      <description><![CDATA[ <p><font color="#542b2b" face="tahoma,arial,helvetica,sans-serif">A <strong>martingale</strong> is a piece of equipment that keeps a horse from elevating his head too high and to prevent a horse from avoiding a riders commands. It may also come in handy if you own a head tosser that could hit you in the face with his neck. Martingales are allowed in most classes that involve jumping or speed. However, are not allowed in flat most classes. There are s<strong>tanding martingales</strong>, <strong>running martingales</strong>, <strong>German martingales</strong> and a number of other devices used in training. It is not advisable for beginning riders to use these items unless they have had some schooling on there use.</font></p><p /> ]]></description>

      <description><![CDATA[ <p><font color="#542b2b"><font face="tahoma,arial,helvetica,sans-serif">The  <b>chambon</b> <strong>is a training device</strong> used on horses. It runs from the girth or the bottom of the surcingle</font><font face="tahoma,arial,helvetica,sans-serif">, forks about half way, and continues to the rings on either side of the horse's head at the base of the ears. Running through the rings it follows the direction of the cheek pieces and attaches to the bit ring.</font></font></p><p><font color="#542b2b"><font face="tahoma,arial,helvetica,sans-serif">Chambons are advanced equipment, and should only be used by experienced trainers who are knowledgeable in the art of longeing</font><font face="tahoma,arial,helvetica,sans-serif">. A chambon is not a quick way to fix the head set of a horse. It will merely to help develop the correct muscle. </font><font face="tahoma,arial,helvetica,sans-serif">The chambon was originally intended for longeing and free schooling. However, some people now use it while riding.</font></font></p><p><font color="#542b2b" face="tahoma,arial,helvetica,sans-serif"> If Longed improperly, a horse may begin to go on his forehand. Chambons can also cause sore neck muscles. Incorrect use of Chambons can therefore spoil a horse's gaits, which would then require weeks of retraining.</font></p><div class="printfooter"><font face="tahoma,arial,helvetica,sans-serif"></font></div> ]]></description>
