Argentine Bits
The Argentine Snaffle bit is not a true snaffle bit, by definition. The reason for this is that the although the mouth piece is jointed as in a snaffle. The bit has shanks and can be fitted with a curb strap. Because of this pressure can be applied to the mouth and tongue as well as the jaw and the poll. This cannot be done with a true snaffle bit. |
