The Icelandic Horse is a breed that is very quickly growing in popularity.  They have wonderful calm natures and are extraordinarily comfortable.  This is one of the traditional bits in which these horses are often competed and hacked. It will exert considerable pressure on the poll and lower jaw without the use of a curb chain. It actually works some what like the American Gag bit.
