Horse Poultices are used as a common treatment on horses to relieve inflammation. It is usually used on the lower legs, under a stable bandage, to focus treatment on tendon areas. Applying a cold poultice will reduce swelling and fluid build up.  In most cases Poultices are applied cold but can be heated and applied to areas that need increased circulation.
